The Local Government of Morong headed by Mayor Cynthia G. Linao-Estanislao and Vice Mayor Leila G. Linao-Munoz joined the country in remembering the heroism of Special Action Force (SAF) 44.
One of the fallen SAF 44 commandos, SPO1 John Lloyd R. Sumbilla was husband of Morong native Rochelle Vizmanos Sumbilla, a public school teacher.
“Muli at muli po kaming sumasaludo sa inyong katapangan at pagmamahal sa bayan”, Linao-Estanislao messaged on the 9th death anniversary of SAF 44.
President Bong Bong Marcos in an statement cited the gallant sacrifice of the SAF 44 policemen who died for the love of the country.
“Filipino people can only pay homage to the sacrifice of the SAF 44 by working tirelessly to realize their dreams for their family, their loved ones, for their comrades and for the people”, the President said.
The 44 SAF commandos were killed in a firefight with insurgents during a police operation in Mamasapano in Maguindanao on January 25, 2015.
